The Eastern Washington Eagles had the ball and a 27-22 lead with 51 seconds left in the game. It was 4th and 3 from the NAU 23 yard line and the Eagles decided to go for it instead of attempting a 40 yard field goal. When the 4th down attempt failed, the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks drove 77 yards on 3 plays in 35 seconds with their 3rd string quarterback for the game-winning touchdownd to stun the 2nd ranked Eagles, 28-27. Quincy Forte returned after a 4 game absence to rush for a career high 219 yards. The Eagles fall to 7-2 overall, 4-1 in Big Sky play. The loss snaps Eastern’s 14 game Big Sky Conference winning streak.
